WHAT ARE FOLDABLES?

A Foldable is a 3-D interactive graphic organizer based upon a skill that can be made by the student. When making foldables the students develops a fast, kinesthetic activity that helps them organize and retain information in a easier way.


IT IS NOT ORIGAMI

The foldables can be used in any subject as a supporting material to enhance the learning process. They give students an opportunity to create something that they can then refer back to.  Foldables can be as simple or as complicated as you want them to be.






ADVANTAGES OF THE FOLDABLES

  1. The student can memorize, organize, remember, review and learn many kinds of information.
  2. The students use their creativity in a kinesthetic learning environment.
  3. They reinforce important thinking.
  4. They enhance communication skills.
  5. Students with memorizing problems can use foldables to memorize easier.
  6. Foldables are graphic organizers that students create with their own ideas, colors, fonts, ect.
  7. They can be used with any subject in any level.
  8. They are a guide when the students is rehearsing or studying.

WHY DO TEACHERS USE FOLDABLES IN THE CURRICULUM?


  1. Fun & motivating, hands-on approach

  1. Introducing new vocabulary words

  3. Before a chapter, lesson, story, etc.

  5. After completing the chapter, lesson, story, etc. 
  6. Guided Instruction or Guided Reading 
  7. Writing process 
  8. Review 
  9. Anytime- daily

  • Graphic organizers (such as foldables) can:
